Darren first started out as a chef aged 16 at Caunton Beck near Newark and went on to work in other local ala-carte restaurants such as Donnington Manor Hotel in Castle Donnington and Lakeside at Arnold gaining experience along the way catering for large wedding functions and busy restaurants which catered for up to 300 people.

Darren has now opened his own restaurant the Lodge Restaurant here at Mansfield Lodge Hotel. Darrens future plans for his restaurant are to gain rosette or even Michelin star recognition.

Darren is very passionate about food and uses the freshest and most local produce when designing his menus and hopes you enjoy the flavour of his success to come.
